Experience

1. Graduate Student Researcher (Jan 2015 - Present)

Control and Robotics Lab, University of California, Riverside

  • Bucket wheel reclaimer calibration, surface reconstruction and automatic control: Developed a method to calibrate LiDAR-GPS extrinsic parameter. Developed a software that manages a point cloud and reconstructs a 3D surface in real time using 2D LiDARs and GPS receivers mounted on a bucket wheel reclaimer.
  • Mixed Sample Rate Nonlinear Smoothing: Wrote a tutorial on different smoothing methods for the nonlinear model where the sensors have different sampling rate. Simulated the algorithms in MATLAB for a 2D differential robot.
  • Roadway feature mapping using mobile laser scanner (LiDAR): Developed a complete process to map roadway features for intelligent driving assistance systems and future self-driving cars from 3D mobile laser scanner and GPS data. The algorithm was used to generate J2735 map of 11 intersections of California ITS testbed in Palo Alto.
  • Roadway feature extraction from 3D point clouds using a graph-based clustering approach: Developed a graph based clustering approach to extract roadway features directly from 3D point cloud. This method extracts features without any rasterization which preserves point cloud accuracy without increasing computational requirement.

2. Software Engineer (Oct 2013 – Aug 2014)

Platform Lab, Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD), Samsung Electronics

  • Application prototype development of Samsung smart TV.
  • Development and bug fixing of Tizen Behavioral Test Tool (TBT).
  • Development of Samsung Galaxy Gear benchmark tool.

3. Lecturer (May 2013 – Sep 2013)

Department of Electrical and Electronic Engr, Green University of Bangladesh

  • Designed syllabuses and conducted lectures for Electrical Engineering undergraduate courses.
